HFR
Heat&Fluid Research Group in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, ITU mainly focuses on computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer. Our group consists of one professor, one assistant professor, seven Ph.D. candidates and many graduate students who have worked actively in our group. Our research group is motivated by the technological and environmental challenges associated with fluid mechanics and heat transfer and we specialize in their CFD applications, but also carry on experimental fluid dynamics research. Our research projects include many national and international collaborations with industrial companies and research institutes abroad. Current research activities include:
- Reciprocating compressors used in household refrigerators
- Lubrication in reciprocating compressors
- Analytical approaches for viscous flows
- Fluid-Structure-Interaction
- Active and passive flow control techniques
- Transition and flow separation
- Aerodynamics of vehicles and their various accessories
- Micro channel flows for biomechanical applications
We highly appreciate new researchers interested in computational and experimental fluid dynamics and would like to welcome graduate students as funding available.
